Rainmeter Calendar by limpet Rainmeter Calendar by limpet
**Update Sept 2010**
The calendar has received an upgrade including holidays, localization and skinability.

Check out the beta at the Rainmeter forums and pitch in your ideas and thoughts.

[link]

Instead of using Rainlender I built my own calendar to use in Rainmeter.

Originally designed to fit in the Sidebar layout for the "Enigma" layout: [link]

Silk icon thanks to Mark James at [link]

Grey (micons) icon thanks to [link]

**Update 3/30/09**
Updated to include a version with the week starting on Monday and ending on Sunday. Both the underline and bold versions have this.

A minor feature with these new calendars is they now update faster! Whoopie! Also note that I changed the font I used back to Trebuchet MS (the font ~Kaelri uses in Enigma).

Sorry for the wait, everyone. Enjoy!

**Update 1/10/09**
This is now a pack including 2 calendar types. One is the original underlined type and the other is a stylized text type to highlight the current day. Each are just as customizable as before.

Also added is the option to display part of the previous and next month in the calendar (partly displayed in the preview). Again, colors can be customized.

Also, two icons are included (credits above) and are used to enable/disable showing the extra days in the calendar by double left clicking. By right clicking you can open the Time/Date Properties window (only tested in Windows XP Pro as admin).

And then obviously the month is now displayed next to the icon. This also can be enabled/disabled, but it requires some in-config tweaking

Hope you enjoy the new features and improvements.

Very nice!

I adjusted the colours and the labels a bit, and also hid the icon and put the clicking-functionality into the month-label.

Now it's just the way i want it.

Moday to sunday calendar in bold doesn't work.
As calendar refreshes, the current day shows as bold, changes to normal, then to a red zero and finally disappears.

Sat to sun works perfect.

Great skin.

Thanks,

¡Ah! Al calendario le hice modificaciones radicales en el aspecto visual para que concordara con el diseño de los otros elementos de mi escritorio. Cuando lo tenga terminado, quiero mostrarte como quedó.

Esto si no tengo cabeza para traducirlo ^^;

¡Tu calendario es fantástico!
¿Puedes ayudarme con un detallito?
Necesito traducir los nombres de los meses al español...

Entiendo bastante el inglés pero lo escribo muy poco. Ojalá me comprendas.

Your calendar is fantastic!
Can you help me?
I need translate english name of the months to spanish...

I absolutely love the calendar, but I do want to change the background instead of having it transparent. I was thinking doing a simple, circular background, then having today's date highlighted by the same circle. If you could do that, I would be glad to favorite it.

I luv this calendar. Thanks for your work.

I found and I fixed one bug tho. If you have very light color behind the calendar the text was not readable. To handle this I have added in the code two lines under the "AntiAlias=#AA#".

Now the code looks like this:

AntiAlias=#AA#
StringEffect=SHADOW
FontEffectColor=0,0,0,50

End here is the result: [link]

You would do me a great favor by making this skin for Rainlendar.
I just found it and it's awesome, but I love your skin and would like to keep it, even when using Rainlendar :P

Hey, Ive been studying the language... and I have a couple questions that I havnt been able to figure out.

1) I used a png file to show the fonts for the days of the week, I was wondering how to use Measure=time to update what day is highlighted.

For instance, On monday the 2nd, I want a certain image to be displayed, and the next day I want a different one. I would be doing it as a calendar, so it would be day based. Is there any way to do this without having to do it manually?

Interesting idea. If you have one of the newer Rainmeter 1.3 betas you can use dynamic variables to change the name of the file loaded in an IMAGE meter.

So, for example, you'll have something like this:

[date]
measure = time
format = %#d

[days]
meter = image
path = #thepath#
filename = [date].jpg
dynamicvariables = 1

I'm not too sure if the filename bit will actually work like that and you might have to use a string meter to properly add the extension. And again using dynamic variables.

You should ask around on the Rainmeter forums [link] if you can't get it working out right.

Again, not sure what you mean, but specifically I don't know what you mean by "on deviantArt". If by the website itself, no, this calendar is for a program called Rainmeter.

If you mean can you use the calendars you download from deviantArt to be used with Rainmeter, then yes. Take a look at Rainmeter 101. [link]

Awesome work so far, much better than the original Enigma one!
Now my question is, like ~MzAsh asked, is it possible to add a 'task-shower' on it so it can be used as an agenda? That would be incredible :)

Creating a daily agenda will be a bit harder to implement than the current holiday agenda I've got set up. I think what may be easiest is setting up a "notes" skin and adding that onto the calendar. Take a look at the new beta on the Rainmete forums. [link]

I'll be recoding a bit to take better advantage of Rainmeter 1.3 and making it easier to change and create custom skins for the calendar. But there may be something in my current beta you can use as a temporary solution.

Can't thank you enough for this calendar. I've learned to modify it and know what's what after browsing through the lines. What I really like most about this calendar is the part where the current day is bold. I have a question though, we're all heard of 10 Ft. HUD, it has a horizontal and vertical calendar; is it possible to do the same thing about the "bold text" on these Calendar? If so, I'd love to ask help from you.

I'm sorry for this very late reply, I can look into but I would think it's easy to do.

If I understand what your goal is to make a long vertical/horizontal calendar that makes the current day bold?
Reply
:iconchaebi69:

No problem, thank you for looking at it. Yes, a long vertical and or horizontal calendar that marks the current day "bold".

Also, have you seen horizontal/vertical rainlendars that shows the current day on top of each date? Like this for example: [link]

Do you think that is possible on rainmeter?
Reply
:iconlimpet:

Absolutely possible in Rainmeter.

Give me a week or so and I'll have this ready to go and part of my current Calendar pack. Thanks for the suggestion. :)
